The Microsoft Office Sustained Engineering Team announced on Tuesday that Service Pack 1 for Office 2010 will be debuting in mid-summer of 2011.
The blog post reads:
We are on track for delivering Office 2010 SP1 and SharePoint 2010 SP1 in mid-summer 2011… Changes to Office and SharePoint products are cumulative.
And it clearly indicates that like Windows 7 SP1, the Service Pack 1 for Office 2010 will not bring any new features and will be a collection (cumulative update) of all previously released patches and updates.
SP1 will update all 40 SKU languages for Office, and update the SKU languages for SharePoint. In addition, 4 Language Interface Pack releases will also be updated: Galician, Basque, Catalan, and Serbian Cyrillic.
The development work is progressing quickly, however Microsoft has not published yet any release date.
