It’s TRUE! Apparently Adobe has decided to kill Flash over HTML5 on Mobile browsers. The company has officially made announcement to give space for HTML5 over Flash, while they will continue to offer support and enable developers come up with native Flash Apps with Adobe AIR only.
The development of Flash Player for mobile browses will come to end as soon as Flash Player 11.1 for Android and BlackBerry Playbook is released.
“HTML5 is now universally supported on major mobile devices, in some cases exclusively. This makes HTML5 the best solution for creating and deploying content in the browser across mobile platforms. We are excited about this, and will continue our work with key players in the HTML community, including Google, Apple, Microsoft and RIM, to drive HTML5 innovation they can use to advance their mobile browsers,” explained Adobe.
Besides Adobe confirmed that Flash Player 12 exists for PC and will come up with similar capabilities to HTML5.
Since the number of plugin-free websites (powered by HTML5) is increasing rapidly, it is an opportunity to enrich the web experience and the decision is welcomed.
